The Impact of Higher Education Expansion on the Educational Wage Premium in Taiwan: 1985 to 2015

This research investigates the impact of higher education expansion on educational wage premium from a long-term perspective in Taiwan. By using 1985 to 2015 Manpower Utilization Survey (MUS) data with difference-in-difference-in-differences model (DDD), this study analyzes change university educated versus lower-than-university counterparts across since 1995. The number universities Taiwan tripled between 1995 and 2005, 50 more than 150, upgrading about 100 technology colleges vocational schools additionally. Dramatic as well graduates will shrink for young generation who entered into labor market after year 2000, but older be less affected. empirical results show that wages younger is 12% 21% lower their due higher-education expansion.
